The directory feature of the Power add on allows you to quickly build a directory-style listing on your pages to show a list of cities, states, or countries where you have locations.
The [slp_directory] shortcode used to build this listing can be combined with a landing_page attribute to quickly refer your site visitors to an interactive map showing your locations in the selected city, state, or country.
If you are using the Power add on and do NOT have the Experience add on installed, the Power add on will take care of managing the search form to ensure the proper fields are in place to filter your location results when users come in from a directory listing. The search form will NOT allow you to change the filter setting when using only the Power add on. If your site visitor clicked on the “show me locations in Georgia” link on your directory page the landing page showing the locator map and search form will be limited to only showing those locations in that state as long as the visitor came in from the directory page.
Version 4.6.3 of the Experience add on is aware of the Power directory listings. If you are using the Experience add on and are showing the drop down selector for users to pick a state, city, or country it will automatically select the proper state, city, or country on the drop down while filtering the locations results to match. If you have set the City, State, or Country selector mode to “hidden” the user will NOT be able to change the list of results.
Note: If you are using the Experience add on and wish to retain the city/state/country filters for links coming in from the directory listing you must have a corresponding [slp_search_element dropdown_with_label=”city”], [slp_search_element dropdown_with_label=”state”], or [slp_search_element dropdown_with_label=”country”] entry in your Search Layout. It can be set to hidden as noted above, but the proper slp_search_element search code must be present.
